Tonya Davis

Tonya DavisTonya Davis, a Bedford County native, has served as Bedford County Trustee since 2010. She is a Certified Public Administrator through the University of Tennessee and has a certification in the Local Government Leadership Program. She is the 2020 president of the Tennessee Trustees Association, and fourth vice president of the County Officials Association of Tennessee. She is an active member of the Tennessee Association of Property Tax Professionals.

Davis was named the Outstanding Trustee of the Year award for Tennessee for 2020 in recognition of her "exemplary service to the State of Tennessee and to the citizens of Bedford County."

Davis is a past president of Shelbyville-Bedford County Chamber of Commerce and a past chair of the chamber's Economic Development and Tourism division. She is a past chair of United Way of Bedford County and helped to promote and organize its Stuff The School Bus program. She is a Paul Harris Fellow through Rotary International and received the 2013 Governor's Volunteer Star Award from the state for outstanding community service. She received the 2016 Bedford County Good Scout Award from the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and chaired the 2017 Elk River District Good Scout Award Luncheon. She is a member of Shelbyville Woman's Club and a board member of Shelbyville-Bedford County Senior Citizens Center.
Davis and her husband Michael, a lieutenant with Shelbyville Police Department, have two children and eight grandchildren. Davis is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
