Motor vehicle tags and registration
Motor Vehicles
If purchased through a DEALER you must provide the following:
- Title or MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin)
- Bill of Sale showing purchase price and sales tax collected.
- Odomenter statement filled out on back of current title or MSO (For 2011 models or newer).
- Lien holder information on back of title or MSO (If Applicable).
- Copy of current registration if transferring tag from another vehicle.
If purchased through an INDIVIDUAL you must provide the following:
- Title signed on the back by seller and purchaser.
- Sales price on back of title.
- Odomenter reading on back of title (For 2011 models or newer).
- Lien holder information on back of title (If Applicable).
- If the vehicle is a GIFT, or the sales price is less than current retail value, you must provide an Affidavit of Non-dealer Transfer signed by both the seller and the purchaser.
- Copy of current registration if transferring tag from another vehicle.
Tag Renewals
Fees:
- $29.00 (Standard passenger plate)
- $2.00 (Handling fee, if renewing by mail)
Requirements:
- Renewal Notice and/or current registration
- If tag has been expired more than 90 days, registered vehicle owner must be present.
